Song of Secrets for Training in the 13 Techniques

Don't underestimate the thirteen techniques, the source of life is at the waist.
Pay attention to 'apparent' and 'solid', without hindrance chi flows with grace.
Stillness in movement, movement in stillness, adjust according to what the situation is.
Every technique must be guided by will, combat efficiency will be achieved with ease.
All the time pay attention to your waist, the abdomen is charge with chi and might.
The spine is straight and full of spirit, the whole body is relaxed with head upright.
Be attentive to details in every move, spontaneous let your movements be.
A teacher's guidance is needed to enter the way, when accomplished, unrestricted the rules is he.
What is so difficult about the form? Mind and energy are the king.
What is the aim of Tai Chi Chuan practice? Health and vitality and eternal spring.

The Book of Change and The Thirty Six Strategies

Six times six is thirty six. When we calculate the pros and cons of a situation, we need strategies. When we use strategies we must make calculations. The universal law of change is such. Opportunities are found in every situation. When planning a strategy, one must consider benefit. If there is no benefit, the strategy is not useful.

Chinese Speech Contest for Foreign Nationals - Mark Blohm's Speech

(translation)
My name is Mark Blohm. I am from Boston. I live in Tainan. I teach Taijiquan and Shaolin Kung Fu. Speaking of Chinese Kung Fu, you must have heard of the Shaolin Temple. But did you you know? All the great Chinese generals were Shaolin disciples. Yue Fei of the Song dynasty was a Shaolin disciple. Xingyiquan and Eagle Claw Kung Fu come from Yue Fei.

Yue Fei has many interesting stories. In his youth he was really a Hercules. Before he was 20, he could draw a bow of 150 kg. His teacher, Zhou Tong, saw that he was very good, so he taught him a lot of Shaolin Kung Fu.

Yue Fei eventually joined the army. His army was excellent. Once, with only 800 soldiers, they defeated an army of 50,000; the generals using Xingyiquan and the soldiers using Eagle Claw Kung Fu. Yue Fei was very loyal. He saved the Song dynasty.

Foreigners discover Chinese history through speech contest

Mark Blohm, a 30-year-old from Boston, demonstrated martial arts during his speech about Yue Fei of the Southern Song Dynasty, who is known for his kung fu skills and patriotism.
"Participating in the speech contest helps me build up more confidence," said Blohm, who came to Taiwan three years ago with no knowledge of the language.
